PM Step I of the OUMERE Protocol
Where the evening protocol begins.
Acquire The Collection Start with the Travel SetOil Dissolution Theory
The evening begins with a clean surface — but clean should not mean stripped. Oil Dissolution Theory removes the day's accumulation of sunscreen, makeup, and oxidized sebum without disturbing the skin's own lipid layer. What should be there stays. What shouldn't, goes.
A non-foaming emulsifying cleanser. Watermelon seed oil, grapeseed, camellia japonica. Rinses to a clean milk. No residue, no tightness. Hand-compounded in limited monthly editions.

The Logic of Dissolution
Like Dissolves Like
Sunscreen, makeup, and oxidized sebum are oil-soluble. Water and foaming agents can't fully reach them. ODT uses a linoleic-forward oil phase to lift these impurities at the molecular level — the same principle that governs dissolution in chemistry. Oil removes what water cannot.
The Clean Rinse
Add water and ODT transforms into a light milk, carrying dissolved debris away with it. No oily film remains. No tightness. The skin feels balanced and comfortable — ready for the evening treatment steps that follow, not recovering from a harsh cleanse.
Respect for the Surface
Foaming cleansers work by stripping — they remove everything, including the skin's natural lipids that took all day to build. ODT is selective. It dissolves what accumulated on top of the skin while leaving what belongs to the skin intact. The difference shows in how your skin looks the next morning.
Formulation Principles
How a cleanser should treat the skin it touches.
Non-Foaming
Foam is created by surfactants that strip the skin's natural lipid layer along with the impurities. ODT avoids this entirely. It cleanses through oil-based dissolution — gentler, more thorough, and far kinder to the skin's natural comfort and appearance.
No Fragrance
The evening ritual should begin in a calm, non-reactive state. ODT contains no fragrance — synthetic or natural — allowing the skin to transition into its night protocol without unnecessary irritation from scent compounds.
Balanced Lipids
No heavy waxes or butters that leave residue. ODT uses watermelon seed oil, grapeseed oil, and camellia japonica — lightweight oils that rinse clean when emulsified with water, leaving the skin feeling fresh and balanced rather than coated.
Hand-Compounded
The cold-pressed oils in ODT are sensitive to heat and oxidation. Each monthly edition is compounded individually in the OUMERE private laboratory — ensuring the oils arrive fresh and intact, with their beneficial properties fully preserved.
The Ritual
Shake the bottle to mix the oil and water layers. Apply a quarter-sized amount to dry skin — dry, not damp. Massage into the face for 30 to 60 seconds. You may feel small grits on your fingertips as congestion is released from the pores. Add water to emulsify into a milk, then rinse thoroughly with cool water. Pat dry.
Applying to dry skin is essential — it allows the oil phase to interact directly with lipophilic debris before water enters the equation. This is the difference between a surface cleanse and a thorough one.

About Oil Dissolution Theory
OUMERE Oil Dissolution Theory is a hand-compounded non-foaming emulsifying cleanser created by cellular biologist Wendy Ouriel in the OUMERE private laboratory in Palm Beach, Florida. It is the first step of the OUMERE evening protocol — the gentle, lipid-respecting cleanse that prepares the skin for overnight treatment.
The formula uses a linoleic-forward oil phase — cold-pressed watermelon seed oil, grapeseed oil, camellia japonica seed oil, and castor oil — to dissolve sunscreen, makeup, and oxidized sebum through the principle of like-dissolves-like. When water is added, the formula emulsifies into a light milk that rinses clean without residue or tightness.
Oil Dissolution Theory was developed as an alternative to foaming cleansers and cleansing balms — a formula that removes impurities thoroughly while leaving the skin's own lipid layer undisturbed. It is suitable for all skin types and is the recommended cleanser within the complete OUMERE anti-aging skincare system.
Produced in limited monthly volume, bottled in laboratory glass, shipped directly from the OUMERE laboratory. No fragrance. No essential oils. No foaming agents. No heavy waxes.
For most, OUMERE is the last skincare they will ever need. For many, it is the first that actually worked.
"Purity without compromise. Remove the day. Preserve the skin."
