Adult Acne Protocol

OUMERE Skin Guide

The Protocol: Adult Acne & Congestion

Adult acne is rarely a hygiene issue; it is a compositional issue. Research shows that acne-prone sebum is deficient in Linoleic Acid, making it sticky and prone to clogging. The OUMERE protocol treats acne by correcting this fatty acid imbalance and dissolving congestion without stripping the barrier.

The "Sticky Sebum" Theory

Traditional acne treatments (drying lotions, foams) strip the skin, causing it to overproduce oil to compensate. Worse, they do not address the root cause: Linoleic Acid Deficiency. When sebum lacks Linoleic Acid, it becomes viscous and glue-like, trapping bacteria in the pore. To clear the pore, we must introduce high-linoleic oils that liquify this congestion.

The Solution: Dissolve & Balance

Step 1: Dissolve the Plug

Oil Dissolution TheoryWhy: Uses the principle "Like Dissolves Like." High-linoleic Watermelon and Grapeseed oils bind to hardened sebum and dissolve it, clearing the pore without harsh scrubbing.

Step 2: Chemical De-Congestion

No. 9 ExfoliantWhy: Contains Mandelic Acid (lipophilic) which penetrates the oil within the pore to break desmosome bonds, preventing the dead skin buildup that caps the acne lesion.

Step 3: Sebum Correction

Serum BioluminelleWhy: It seems counter-intuitive to put oil on acne, but this serum provides the missing Linoleic Acid. This "tricks" the skin into stopping excess oil production and thins the sebum so it flows freely.

Step 4: Anti-Inflammation

UV-RWhy: Acne is an inflammatory condition. UV-R uses Sulforaphane to downregulate the inflammatory markers that cause the redness and swelling of a breakout.

Recovery Timeline

Weeks 1–2 (The Purge): As pores unclog, some deep congestion may surface. This is a sign the dissolution is working.
Weeks 3–4: Inflammation reduces; active breakouts heal faster.
Week 6+: Sebum composition is balanced; skin is clear and less reactive.

The Daily Sequence

Morning

  1. No. 9 (Apply to dry skin)
  2. UV-R (To reduce redness)
  3. Serum Bioluminelle (To balance oil)
  4. Sunscreen (Non-comedogenic)
